He reminds the viewer that, historically, artist-rendered landscapes were not meant to be contemplative. Rather, they were a statement of ownership. “Arid and rugged, the landscape is divided by a man‑made scar that snakes through the topography in fragmented sections from west to east along the continent.”

[more+]Oregon’s Willamette Valley is a trove for spectacular Pinot Noir that exhibit nuanced differences from one place to another depending on soils, winemaking philosophy, and clone. But this isn’t all the Willamette has to offer. From coastal, crisp whites, to barrel-aged chardonnays and funky natural wines, this region has a whole other side so many of us miss!
We want to take you through the history, geography, and geology of the wondrous Willamette Valley and explore how place impacts Pinot with a few classics we love from 3 different parts of the valley. We will also taste you on a few other major grapes (and a couple oddballs) from producers who are shaking up the image we have of this area as consumers begin to learn of this region's next frontier for wine. Willamette is so much more than Pinot (even if we love them!) -- they are home to so much diversity, creativity, and collaboration.
Manger in Bayport will be hosting So What for this one, so if you decide you want to stay on for a fantastic dinner, be sure to make some reservations. You will get a complimentary glass of wine with your meal.

Performing some of the most popular songs ever, including hits like "Forever in Blue Jeans," "Cherry, Cherry," "Sweet Caroline," "America," "Song Sung Blue," "I Am I Said," and "Cracklin' Rosie."
Though he rose to prominence in the 80's as lead singer/songwriter for the Gear Daddies, Zellar began performing his Neil tribute in the 90's, which is still wildly popular to this day.
A talent-rich band joins him for this hit-studded evening, including Ali Gray, Patrik Tanner, Scott Wenum, Nick Ciola, and JJ Benson.
“...writers from Dylan to Springsteen, often tell us far more about the human condition by concentrating on life’s everyday moments. That’s the strength of Martin Zellar...” - Robert Hillburn, Los Angeles Times.

The peaceful English countryside may never be the same after Bertie Wooster and his unflappable valet, Jeeves, pay a visit. What starts as a plan to pair tongue-tied, amphibian-loving Augustus Fink-Nottle and fanciful, poetry-loving Madeline Basset quickly goes awry. Soon, Bertie is fending off Madeline’s amorous advances, reluctantly participating in an attempted burglary, and fleeing attacks from a homicidal French chef. With the stakes this high, the solution must lie with the one and only Jeeves!

It's looking like this year, we may find ourselves tasting some Liguria, Piedmont, Trentino-Alto Adige, Marche, Campania, and Tuscan wine... You will learn more about the history of the race, the regions they are panting their way through, and even possibly a couple stories from when I was fortunate enough to follow some of these legendary tours.

He reminds the viewer that, historically, artist-rendered landscapes were not meant to be contemplative. Rather, they were a statement of ownership. “Arid and rugged, the landscape is divided by a man‑made scar that snakes through the topography in fragmented sections from west to east along the continent.”
Valley Reads in the St. Croix Valley is presented by ArtReach St. Croix in conjunction with core program partners including Valley Bookseller and public libraries located between St. Croix Falls, WI and Hastings, MN. Valley Reads 2024 is supported by Hugh J. Andersen Foundation.

[more+]Back by popular demand, Martin Zellar and his band return to Stillwater to pay tribute to the iconic music of legendary performer, Neil Diamond.
