Literary Arts Series
ArtReach St. Croix provides a variety of avenues for you to get connected to Literary Arts in the St. Croix Valley.
Valley Reads: a river of readers
In April 2013, the St. Croix River Valley was reading The Tragedy of Arthur by Minneapolis native Arthur Phillips. The Tragedy of Arthur challenged us to figure out what is real, what is true and who assigns value. Our Valley Reads events on April 18-20 allowed residents to meet the author, learn about his book and writing process and see a scene from his Shakespearean play! Go to valleyreads.org for more details about this exciting Valley-wide program.
Writers on Writing
Writers on Writing (WOW) is a literary arts program for writers, aspiring writers and lovers of literature to gain exposure and insights in to writing, publishing and the writing life. Guest speakers have included published authors from a wide range of genres including children’s literature, young adult, mystery, poetry, non-fiction and screenwriting. Publishers, storytellers, and creativity coaches have been invited to share information to encourage writers to explore different perspectives. Check out our upcoming speakers.
Literary Arts Workshops and Classes
The Literary Arts Series hosts several workshops for writers over the course of the year. This allows local writers (and visitors to the Valley) to hone their skills, explore new perspectives and meet other writers. Additionally, ArtReach St. Croix helps promote other writing workshops and classes happening in the St. Croix Valley. Check out upcoming workshops.
Writers’ Groups provide an opportunity for a writer to grow as they work together with other writers to push their bounds, try new approaches and share their work with others. Contact us if you are interested in learning about existing writers group or beginning your own.
Literary Arts Programs are supported by Valley Booksellers.
