ArtReach St. Croix – Call for Exhibiting Artists
ArtReach St. Croix seeks submissions from artists wishing to exhibit their work in the St. Croix Galleries at ArtReach St. Croix as part of a 3-5 person exhibition. Exhibitions run 6-7 weeks with openings beginning in February 2020. Applications will be juried by the Visual Arts Committee and staff of ArtReach St. Croix and invited guest jurors. The Zephyr Theatre – Call for Exhibiting Artists
The Art Gallery at Zephyr Theatre, Stillwater, invites St. Croix Valley artists to submit visual works for inclusion in the gallery’s up-coming exhibition, “Gardens.” The exhibition will open September 20th and run through October 30th. This exhibition is designed to complement the Zephyr’s musical/theatrical production of “The Secret Garden.” Visual art representing the four seasons of a garden, park or arbor will be featured. Portraits of trees, flowers and other flora will also be included.Commisions will not be charged, donations by participating artists will be welcome and are, of course, not required. Arcola Mills Historic Foundation – Artist Work Space
Arcola Mills Historic Foundation is pleased to invite Twin Cities and St. Croix Valley-based artists to create in a space that is tranquil, restorative and inspiring. Arcola’s Greek Revival-era mansion has an open, spacious main level, eight studio rooms and a walk-in basement. There is plenty of natural light throughout the house, as well as windows for looking out on the wild and scenic St. Croix River Valley in every room. Afton Art in the Park – Accepting Artist Applications
The Afton Area Business Associate is now accepting artist applications for Afton Art in the Park on September 21-22. The committee will only consider hand-made, high quality, original artwork. While this is not a juried art show, the committee gives consideration to each artist application to ensure a variety of art and to limit the number of artists in a certain category. Washington County 4-H – Creative Arts Committee
The Washington County 4-H program is looking for volunteers to serve on the Creative Arts committee and teachers for their Creative Arts Day at the Washington County Fairgrounds on February 16. Possible art projects include: macrame, wood burning, painting a mini-mandela on a rock or another medium (acrylic or enamel), anime/cartooning/drawing, dream catcher or a weaving project, polymer clay. Adventures is seeking fun loving artists for a new St. Croix Valley trolley tour call “Art Trolley Adventures.” Our goal is to continue to grow the Valley as a “go to” art inspired destination by making it hassle-free, fun and unique. Stillwater Veterans Memorial – Call for Volunteers
The Stillwater Veterans Memorial is looking for volunteers with fine motor skills and an attention to detail in repainting pavers. A training session would be provided along with all necessary artist supplies, paints, sitting and kneeling pads, etc. This is work that can be done at the volunteer’s convenience. The volunteers will be publicly recognized for their contribution to the honoring of veterans at the Memorial. Prospective volunteers can call John Kraemer at 651-439-4350.
The Power of the St. Croix Utility Box Mural Project – Call for Artists
Winner of the 2018 Great Idea Competition Grant from the Stillwater Area Foundation, The Power of the St. Croix Utility Box Project is seeking artists to beautiful utility boxes in Stillwater and Marine on St.Croix. Proposals for two-dimensional murals that relate to the beauty and/or history of the St. Croix River are encouraged. Painting or photography that is realistic or abstract will be considered, and there is $500 available for artists to complete each box.
